Golden-breasted fulvettas are resident birds of montane southern and eastern Asia. Their range includes Nepal, Bhutan, northeastern India, southwestern and central China, and small northern portions of Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam. They remain throughout the year in dense bamboo undergrowth, temperate mountain forest, and shrubland, usually close to the ground. Occupied elevations range from approximately 1,100 to 3,050 meters. These tiny birds measure 10 to 11.5 centimeters long and weigh only 5 to 10 grams. (Animal Diversity Web)

Golden-breasted fulvettas eat insects, small seeds, and berries, usually foraging in groups ranging from a few birds to flocks of 30 to 50. The exact food species remain poorly documented. Breeding occurs during spring and summer, including April through June in China. Both sexes spend about 9 to 12 days constructing a deep cup nest 40 to 100 centimeters above the ground. Females lay three to five pinkish or white, brown-speckled eggs, and the parents incubate them for 10 to 11 days. (Animal Diversity Web)
