Achalinus dabieshanensis

The Dabie Mountains Odd-scaled Snake is a slender, weakly iridescent brown snake with a dark vertebral stripe extending from the back of the head to the tail tip. Its strongly keeled scales occur in 23 rows, while the belly is light brown. Three specimens in the original description measured 26.6–37.6cm. (Original species description)

The species is known from reserves and adjacent areas in the Dabie Mountains of Anhui. Specimens were found in leaf litter within well-preserved montane mixed forest containing evergreen and deciduous broadleaf trees, at elevations of approximately 635–1,361m. The name refers directly to this restricted mountain distribution. (Original species description)
