It is a brood parasite, laying eggs in the nests of other birds such as the crimson sunbird and the little spiderhunter. It mainly forages in the upper canopy, feeding on insects and other small invertebrates, and further south it is a vagrant or migrant, not known to breed (Wikipedia, general species account).
