Black-breasted Thrush

The black-breasted thrush is found from north-eastern India to northern Vietnam. It is 22–23.5cm long including the tail. Both sexes have the same colour on the lower parts, but the upper parts of males are mostly black while females are mostly grey-brown (Wikipedia, general species account).

Birds in India breed from April to July, in Myanmar from April to June, and in China from May to June. The call has been described as 'sweet mellow' and 'melodious', with musical phrases spanning three to eight notes (Wikipedia, general species account).
