Oriolus xanthornus
Diet
Insects and fruit, especially figs
Habitat
Open woodland and cultivation
Clutch size
2 eggs
It builds its nest in a tree and lays two eggs. Its food is insects and fruit, especially figs, found in the tree canopy where it spends much of its time (Wikipedia, general species account).
Linnaeus, confused by the resemblance of unrelated New World and Old World orioles, first described it from a mix of sources, and three of his names are now believed to refer to this one species.
