The black-throated bushtit, or black-throated tit, is a very small passerine in the bushtit family, about 10.5cm long and 4–9g. The nominate race has a chestnut cap, breast band and flanks. It ranges from the foothills of the Himalayas across northern India, north-eastern Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, northern Myanmar and Vietnam to Taiwan (Wikipedia, general species account).
The nest is constructed from moss and lichen and hangs from tree branches. The species feeds on small insects and spiders as well as small seeds, fruits and berries, particularly raspberries. In older sources 'black-throated tit' can also mean true tits such as the rufous-naped tit (Wikipedia, general species account).
