Range
North-eastern Tibet and Qinghai (Buckhan Boda Shan, Amne Machin, Kunlun mountains); endemic to the Tibetan Plateau
The Tibetan rosefinch, or Roborovski's rosefinch (Carpodacus roborowskii), is a rosefinch endemic to the Tibetan Plateau, found in north-eastern Tibet and in the Buckhan Boda Shan, Amne Machin and Kunlun mountains of Qinghai. It lives among rocky steppes and alpine pastures with sparse vegetation, and because of its desolate habitat its range is shared with few other birds apart from Brandt's mountain finch. It is diurnal and lives mostly on the ground. (Wikipedia, general species account)
