Sharpe's rosefinch (Carpodacus verreauxii) is a finch found in central China and far northern Myanmar, in subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland. It was formerly considered a subspecies of the spot-winged rosefinch, but differs genetically, in its distinctly smaller bill, in strong long black streaks on the upperparts and, in males, in a distinctly paler pink overall appearance. The name commemorates the British zoologist Richard Bowdler Sharpe. (Wikipedia, general species account)
