This bat is nocturnal and spends the day in sheltered roosts such as caves. It has been found sharing roosts with other horseshoe bats, including the intermediate horseshoe bat. Very little reproductive information is available, although one pregnant female was recorded in April. The species was described in 2009 from specimens originating in southwestern China.
