The Chinese penduline tit is native to Manchuria. It is a small, pale bird of reedbeds, 11cm long, with a fine-pointed bill, the sexes looking alike. The male has a greyish crown and nape and a black mask from the forehead edged white. It is often in flocks of 10 to 20 (Wikipedia, general species account).
It is similar to true tits but makes characteristic penduline nests. The male chooses the tree for the nest, at 3–15m, and the female arranges the interior and generally lays five to ten eggs. It inhabits agricultural pastures and wetlands with marshes or brackish ponds, in and outside the nesting season, and feeds on insects and larvae (Wikipedia, general species account).
