The Indian giant flying squirrel is a large nocturnal squirrel with a membrane stretching between its fore and hind limbs, allowing long glides through the canopy. Its taxonomy has included several forms now sometimes treated as separate species. It occurs from South Asia into China and mainland Southeast Asia, using deciduous and evergreen forests, chiefly at 500–2,000m. (Wikipedia, general species account)
It nests in tree hollows lined with bark, fur, moss and leaves. Fruit forms much of its diet, supplemented by bark, resin, shoots, leaves, insects and larvae. Females have been reported giving birth to a single blind young. (Wikipedia, general species account)
