Acridotheres cristatellus
Diet
Primarily insects; also fruit, grain, meat, manure and refuse
The crested myna is an adaptable, vocal starling with a conspicuous feathered crest above the bill. Its repertoire includes whistles, warbles, chortles, rasping alarm calls and other harsh notes. The species is omnivorous: insects form an important part of its food, supplemented by fruit, grain, meat and food obtained from manure or refuse. Its diet changes seasonally, with greater reliance on garbage during winter when insects and fruit are less readily available. (Wikipedia, general species account)
