Euprepiophis perlaceus

Basic stats

Range

Western Sichuan, China

The Sichuan Rat Snake, also called the Pearl-banded Rat Snake, is a colubrid endemic to western Sichuan in China. Older references use the name Elaphe perlacea. Molecular analysis of Old World rat snakes led to its placement in Euprepiophis in 2002, together with a small group of Asian rat snakes that are not especially close to the northern rat snakes formerly grouped with them in Elaphe. The opened account supplied no reliable measurements or ecological figures. (Wikipedia, general species account)
