The false killer whale is a large, slender oceanic dolphin with a rounded forehead, no prominent beak and distinctive elbows on its long, curved flippers. The body is mostly dark grey or black. Males can approach 6m and females approximately 5m. It occurs throughout tropical and warm-temperate oceans, mainly in deep offshore water. (Wikipedia, general species account)
It feeds on large fish and squid and has occasionally been documented attacking other cetaceans. False killer whales form strong, persistent social bonds and may travel in groups containing dozens of animals. Individuals share captured prey, and mass strandings involving closely associated group members have been recorded. (Wikipedia, general species account)
