The head is orange to slightly yellow with a grey-outlined cross pattern, and the eyes are yellowish with vertical pupils. Maximum recorded length is about 77–78 cm. It is crepuscular and apparently eats small mammals, taking newborn mice at night in captivity. (Wikipedia, general species account)
