Forrest's rock squirrel is a small rodent in the squirrel family that is endemic to Sichuan and Yunnan in China. It inhabits cliffs covered in shrubby vegetation at an altitude of around 3,000m. In appearance it largely resembles its more widespread relative, Père David's rock squirrel, but it is more ochraceous in colour and has a faint whitish line on the side (Wikipedia, general species account).

Relatively little is known about the species. Its behaviour is assumed to resemble that of Père David's rock squirrel, so details of its diet and breeding are not confirmed from direct study (Wikipedia, general species account).
