Fraser's dolphin is a stocky oceanic dolphin with a short beak, small triangular fins and a bold dark stripe extending from the face along the flank. Adults reach approximately 2.6–2.7m and up to about 210kg. It inhabits deep tropical waters worldwide, most commonly between approximately 30°S and 20°N. (Wikipedia, general species account)

The species feeds on pelagic fish, squid and shrimp at depths of roughly 200–500m, using echolocation where little sunlight penetrates. It commonly forms tightly packed, fast-moving groups of 100–1,000 animals whose rapid porpoising can churn the sea surface conspicuously. (Wikipedia, general species account)
