Basic stats

Range

Size

10–13cm

The Indo-Pacific Gecko, also called Garnot's House Gecko, is a 10–13cm gecko with a relatively long, narrow snout. It changes from dark grey or brown with pale markings during daylight to a paler, translucent appearance at night. Two rows of large, soft, spine-like scales along the sides of its tail help distinguish it from similar house geckos. (Wikipedia, general species account)

The species is native to South and Southeast Asia, Polynesia and eastern Australia and has become established in additional tropical regions. It reproduces entirely through parthenogenesis: known populations consist of females whose eggs can develop without fertilization. The species is oviparous, although a precise clutch size was not supplied by the opened account. (Wikipedia, general species account)
