Gloydius huangi, the Lancang Plateau viper, is a medium-sized pit viper from Tibet, growing up to 53.2 cm. (The Reptile Database; Wikipedia, general species account)
It has an oval or spoon-shaped head and a blunt snout, with matte scales and a beige to peachy base colour with many grey or black patches, including a distinct C-shaped patch on the head. It prefers hot, dry areas at about 3,000–3,300 m and was previously described as Gloydius strauchi, from which its larger size and pattern distinguish it. (Wikipedia, general species account)
