Gloydius qinlingensis
Range
Shaanxi, China (Qinling Mountains)
Gloydius qinlingensis is a venomous pit viper from Shaanxi, China, named for the Qinling Mountains where it was found. Its status is debated: some authors treat it as a synonym of Gloydius strauchi, of which it was once a subspecies, but it is currently considered a full species because of its genetic distance from other members of the genus. It has an oval or triangular head and light red or yellow-brown colouring with dark brown irregular markings, and it is ovoviviparous. (Wikipedia, general species account)
