Gloydius rubromaculatus is a small venomous pit viper found in Qinghai, Tibet and Sichuan in China at elevations of about 3,300–4,770 m. It is told from other Asian pit vipers by its glossy dorsal scales and domed, oval head. (The Reptile Database; Wikipedia, general species account)

It has small black spots on the head and red-orange markings along the sides on a khaki base colour. Droppings from collected specimens contained only moth remains, suggesting it may specialise on moths, and captive juveniles ate moths as well as baby mice. (Wikipedia, general species account)
