It lives around the Himalayan mountains and surrounding highlands in open areas with temperate forest, bamboo, grassland and shrubland, and hunts insects close to the ground. In Pakistan it breeds from May to June in nests of compacted moss and grass lined with hair, wool and feathers. Females lay three or four eggs with an incubation period of 14 or 15 days, and the typical lifespan is about 3.8 years. (Wikipedia, general species account)
