Tylonycteris malayana is a tiny, flattened bat with adhesive pads on its thumbs and feet. Formerly treated as a subspecies of T. robustula, it was elevated to species rank following taxonomic analysis. Its flattened skull and body allow it to enter narrow holes in bamboo stems. (Wikipedia, greater bamboo bat account)

It roosts in hollow bamboo internodes, often in loose groups, entering through holes made by beetles. Studies of related Chinese populations recorded flies, beetles and hymenopterans among the prey. The species occurs in southern China and Southeast Asia. (Wikipedia, greater bamboo bat account)
