The grey-headed parakeet is closely related to the slaty-headed parakeet, with which it forms a super-species. Its face is grey-green and the rest of the head dull green with a faint pale green band below the cheeks to the hindcrown; the wing patch is absent and the tail long. It has a wide range in South-east Asia, from north-eastern India to Vietnam, including most of Vietnam, all of Laos, eastern Cambodia, northern Thailand, most of Myanmar and Yunnan province in China (Wikipedia, general species account).
It has a widely varied diet of leaf buds, seeds, fruit, berries and flowers, and is often seen in flocks or family parties, gathering in large flocks to roost at dusk. After a January–March breeding season, females often lay a clutch of four or five eggs (Wikipedia, general species account).
