The grey-sided thrush is a medium-sized, warm-brown thrush with a white supercilium and a white crescent below the eye. It is migratory, breeding in the mountains of north-east China and wintering in subtropical or tropical moist montane forest in India and Indochina. It forages for insects and berries on the ground and less often in trees, often alongside the eyebrowed thrush, and is thought also to feed on nectar from shingle tree flowers.
