The grey-tailed tattler, also known as the Siberian or Polynesian tattler, is a small shorebird that resembles the common redshank in shape and size. The English name refers to its noisy call, and the best distinction from the wandering tattler is the call: the grey-tailed has a two-note whistle, the wandering a rippling trill (Wikipedia, general species account).

It breeds in north-east Siberia, with a breeding habitat of stony riverbeds, and after breeding migrates to an area from South-east Asia to Australia (Wikipedia, general species account).
