Hengduan Mountain Weasel

The Hengduan Mountain weasel is found in the Hengduan Mountains of Sichuan Province in south-western China. Compared with other Asian weasels it has an unusually slim profile, with a shorter body and tail, a lighter frame, a narrower head and a distinct coloration and fur pattern (Wikipedia, general species account).

It feeds mainly on insects and small rodents, and its short, thin body lets it slip into crevices and burrows that most other predators cannot reach. It is believed to be preyed upon by raptors and larger carnivorous mammals (Wikipedia, general species account).
