The Indian white-eye, formerly the Oriental white-eye, is a small resident breeder in open woodland on the Indian subcontinent. It is about 8 to 9 cm long with yellowish-olive upperparts, a white eye ring, a yellow throat and vent and a whitish-grey belly that may be yellow in some subspecies. The sexes look similar. It forages in small groups on nectar and small insects (Wikipedia, general species account).
It was renamed Indian white-eye because populations in Southeast Asia were reclassified as separate species.
