The Indochinese gray langur is an Old World monkey occurring in China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Once treated as part of Phayre's langur, it is now recognized as Trachypithecus crepusculus; genetic research also indicates an ancient hybrid origin involving ancestral obscurus-group langurs and the Tenasserim langur lineage. It primarily inhabits old-growth evergreen forest and is strongly arboreal. Field research found that fruits and seeds can form 32.1% of its annual diet, alongside leaves and a notably diverse assortment of other plants. (Mammal Diversity Database; Ma et al. 2020)
