Indochinese Ground Squirrel

The Indochinese ground squirrel, also called Berdmore's ground squirrel, has a grey-brown back and a white belly. Most striking are the stripes on each side of the body, a beige one above and a black one below. The head is pointed, so the animal resembles a mouse or a treeshrew. Body length is about 20cm, not including a tail of about 15cm (Wikipedia, general species account).

The mainland range, from southern China through Myanmar and Thailand to Indochina, follows the Mammal Diversity Database country list. The general species account used here gives little on its ecology in China.
