Kuznetsov's mole is found in northern Vietnam and southern China. It has been recorded from north-eastern Vietnam at elevations of 750–950m, and a record from Guangxi in south-eastern China also likely belongs to this species. It occurs east of the Red River (Wikipedia, general species account).
It is a large mole, comparable in size to the long-nosed mole, and is distinguished by a large, club-shaped tail, a larger skull, short molar rows and a wider rostrum (Wikipedia, general species account).
