The Emei Shan liocichla, also known as the Omei Shan or grey-faced liocichla (Liocichla omeiensis), is a laughingthrush endemic to forests in mountain ranges in southern Sichuan, China. It is an altitudinal migrant, spending summer above 1,000 m and moving below 600 m in winter, and is often found in thick bamboo and deep scrub forest. It is closely related to the Bugun liocichla, which it closely resembles. (Wikipedia, general species account)
It is olive-grey with red wing patches and a slight red ring on each side of the grey face, and feeds in the undergrowth of semi-tropical forest. It is threatened by habitat loss through logging and conversion to agriculture, and some populations are protected in reserves such as the Emei Shan Protected Scenic Site.
