The little spiderhunter is a long-billed nectar-feeding bird of the sunbird family found in the moist forests of South and South-east Asia, including China. Unlike typical sunbirds the sexes are very similar in plumage, and the male's bill is all black. (Wikipedia, general species account)

It is usually seen alone or in pairs and often gives a 'tzeck' call, a buzzy zick-zick when disturbed or foraging, and a song of rapid chipping notes that can go on for long periods. Two eggs are the usual clutch. (Wikipedia, general species account)
