Savi's warbler is an Old World warbler about 14cm long that breeds in Europe and the western Palearctic. The adult has an unstreaked grey-brown back and whitish-grey underparts and lacks the throat streaks of the river warbler, with a slender brown bill and brown irises. Young birds are yellower below (Wikipedia, general species account).

It is migratory, wintering in northern and sub-Saharan Africa. Three to six eggs are laid in a nest in reeds. The song is a monotonous, mechanical, insect-like reeling, faster and deeper than related species and resembling Roesel's bush-cricket.
