Murphy's mud snake (Hypsiscopus murphyi) is a snake of the family Homalopsidae found in south-eastern China (Hong Kong, Hainan, Fujian and Yunnan), Taiwan and mainland Southeast Asia. A 2024 morphological study concluded that it is a junior synonym of Hypsiscopus wettsteini, so the two entries on this site describe the same animal.
