Habitat
Forested and montane landscapes
Range

The northern hog badger is a shaggy-coated mustelid with an elongated, mobile, pig-like snout and powerful foreclaws used while rooting and digging. A taxonomic revision separated it from the larger greater hog badger, Arctonyx collaris; older sources often combine their records. It occurs widely in South and East Asia, including much of China, and has an opportunistic omnivorous diet that varies with habitat, season and local food abundance.
