Odorrana fengkaiensis
Habitat
Lowland broad streams, rivers and pools near riparian areas
Range
Heishiding Nature Reserve, Fengkai, Guangdong, China, and southern China
Odorrana fengkaiensis was described by Wang and colleagues in 2015 in Zootaxa from southern China on the basis of morphology and phylogenetic analysis. Its closest relatives are Odorrana hainanensis and O. bacboensis, from which it is separated by morphology and allopatric distribution, and in mitochondrial gene trees it forms a reciprocally monophyletic group with O. hainanensis at an average genetic divergence of about 2.1%. It lives in lowland broad streams, rivers and pools near riparian areas, and its ecology is still poorly documented. (open-access original description and web summaries)
