The paddyfield warbler is a marsh warbler found in low vegetation such as long grass, reeds and rice. The adult has an unstreaked pale brown back and buff underparts with a warm brown rump, and young birds are richer buff below. It breeds in the temperate central Palearctic and is migratory, wintering in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan (Wikipedia, general species account).
Four or five eggs are laid in a nest in grass. The song is fast and similar to the marsh warbler's with much mimicry, but weaker and more rhythmic. It is a rare vagrant to western Europe (Wikipedia, general species account).
