Fejervarya kawamurai is a frog in the family Dicroglossidae found in Taiwan, Japan (the Ryukyu Islands and Honshu) and China. Males have a snout–vent length of 36–41mm and females are slightly larger at 40–47mm. It lays multiple clutches of eggs, and the tadpoles metamorphose swiftly after hatching (Wikipedia, general species account).

Surveys in Kanagawa Prefecture of central Japan found a breeding season from the first half of May to the first half of August, with populations made up mostly of young individuals that metamorphosed less than a year earlier (Wikipedia, general species account).
