The rufous-chinned laughingthrush is a mid-sized laughingthrush found along the Himalayas and in some parts of South-east Asia, identified by a black cap and a band on the brown tail. The underparts are greyish while the upperparts have a scale-like feather pattern, and a distinctive pale buff loreal patch and a broad dark moustachial stripe border the rufous chin and ear-coverts. There is considerable geographic variation (Wikipedia, general species account).
