The Sela macaque is a stocky, medium-sized macaque formally described in 2022 from Arunachal Pradesh, India. It has dense brownish-yellow fur, a relatively pale pink face, prominent ears and deep-set light-brown eyes. Compared with the closely related Arunachal macaque, its face and coat are lighter. Reported body length is approximately 71–82cm, with males somewhat larger and bearing larger canine teeth. The Sela Pass appears to have acted as a long-term barrier separating this lineage from Macaca munzala. (Ghosh et al. 2022; Wikipedia, general species account)
