The Nonggang babbler (Stachyris nonggangensis) is a recently described babbler first observed by ornithologists Zhou Fang and Jiang Aiwu in February 2005 in the Nonggang Natural Reserve in Guangxi, China. The type specimen was captured in January 2006 and the species formally described in 2008. It resembles the sooty babbler but has a pale iris, a white crescent behind the ear, a white throat patch with black spots and a black bill. (Wikipedia, general species account)
In behaviour it resembles a wren-babbler of the genus Napothera, preferring to run rather than fly and spending most of its time foraging on the ground for insects among rocks. (Wikipedia, general species account)
