Reeves's pheasant is a large pheasant endemic to China. Males measure up to 210cm long, with a tail of up to 2.4m that grows about 30cm each year, and weigh about 1,529g; females measure 75cm and weigh about 949g. The male is brightly plumaged, with a scaled golden-white and red body, grey legs, a brown iris and bare red skin around the eye. The head is white with a narrow black band across the eyes, and the extremely long silvery-white tail is barred chestnut-brown (Wikipedia, general species account).
Reeves's pheasants prefer higher ground for nesting, and their diet is vegetable matter such as seeds and cereals. They were introduced to a number of estates in England, Scotland and Ireland, and breeding was reported in several places, but most introductions did not produce established populations (Wikipedia, general species account).
