Old World, breeding in trees

The green sandpiper (Tringa ochropus) is a small wader of the Old World and an ancient lineage within its genus; its only close living relative is the solitary sandpiper. Both have brown wings with little light dots and a delicate but contrasting neck and chest pattern, and both nest in trees, unlike most sandpipers. It was formally described by Linnaeus in 1758. The source does not describe its status in China. (Wikipedia, general species account)
