Widely distributed across temperate Eurasia
The white-tailed eagle, sometimes called the 'sea eagle', is a large bird of prey widely distributed across temperate Eurasia. It is one of up to eleven members of the sea eagle genus and is also known as the erne, gray sea eagle or Eurasian sea eagle. Like other eagles it belongs to the family Accipitridae (Wikipedia, general species account).
It requires old-growth trees or ample sea cliffs for nesting and an abundant food supply of fish and birds. The source text used here is mostly general and does not describe its status in China (Wikipedia, general species account).
