Up to 3.0m, most under 2.0m
The yellow sea snake is a venomous sea snake, perhaps the longest of all sea snakes at up to 3.0 m, although most do not exceed 2.0 m. It is active by both day and night. The colour is yellowish or yellowish-green above, with the dorsal scales edged in black and 41 to 46 narrow black bands encircling the body. In young snakes the head is black with a yellow horseshoe-shaped marking, while in adults it is usually yellow (Wikipedia, general species account).
