Yunnan, China, and probably Myanmar

The Yunnan fire-bellied toad, also called the large-webbed bell toad, is a bombinatorid from Yunnan and probably adjoining Myanmar. Its skin produces an irritating defensive secretion, so unnecessary handling should be avoided. Biochemical studies have found numerous active proteins and antimicrobial peptides in these secretions. The compounds contribute to innate immune defence while also helping deter predators that contact the skin. (Wikipedia, general species account; Lee et al. 2005)
