Hadromys yunnanensis

Basic stats

Range

Tongbiguan Nature Reserve, Ruili, Yunnan, China

The Yunnan hadromys, or Yunnan bush rat, was only recently separated from the Manipur bush rat, so very little information about it exists. It was recognised as a separate species because of its much larger body, relatively shorter tail, pure white underparts (rather than grey), significantly shorter diastema and shorter palate relative to its skull (Wikipedia, general species account).

It is found only in Yunnan province, where it is known only from Tongbiguan Nature Reserve in Ruili City (Wikipedia, general species account).
